Function descriptions
Chairperson
As chairperson, you have the final responsibility for a good and healthy process of organizing the activities. Your main task is managing your board members. Therefore, it is important to keep a clear overview.
A good chairperson neither takes all the work on himself, nor does he controll and appoint everything. Motivation is the keyword, your board will mirror themselves in you. You are the image of the foundation and maintains the contact with other associations. Are you well organized, can you listen well and do you like to take the lead, then this function is perfect for you!
Treasurer
Being the treasurer, you are responsible for the money. Not even a cent will be spent without your permission. After having created a balance sheet, you keep the overview of all incoming and outgoing money, and therefore you are involved in every decision made. It is also your job to find a proper location for the congress and to make sure to maintain a good communication with the people of the location. In addition, you have to concern both the costs as well as the appearance and practical issues of the location. Furthermore, all contract will be signed by you.
Are you good at keeping the overview, are you well-organized and do you have a good feeling for money? Then you should definitely apply for the function of treasurer!
Day representative
The day representative’s task is to give meaning to the day itself. After having discussed with your colleagues how you want the day to be, it will be your task to find suitable speakers and workshops. Ethusiasm, perseverance and courage are therefore the most important qualities.
You stay in touch with everyone who has admitted to give a lecture at the congress, and during the day you will be the most important contact person. It is your job to make sure the day will go by smoothly. This includes, for example, finding and managing volunteers, make sure the needed electronics (such as beamers and microphones) are available and welcoming the speakers. A broad responsibility, and therefore absolutely challenging.
Acquisition
Without money there is no congress, without you there is no congress. Do you have a lot of enthusiasm and persuasion skills, do you like to improve your network and to get in touch with companies and institutions? Then this is the function for you. Sustainable entrepreneurship is a theme a lot of companies are involved with. Therefore, it will be your task to get a lot of information about the subject and to convince potential sponsors to take part in the congress, since this is an opportunity they cannot miss out on.
Secretary / Public Relations
It is your task to make sure everyone in Groningen knows about the congress. You are creative and have feeling for design. Designing posters, leaflets and the programma overview will be your responsibility. Besides, you can use all your creativity for setting up a pr-stunt that will draw all the attention to your congress. Stunt vehicles, a parade of elephants, everything is possible.
Doing the PR, you are less busy in the beginning. Besides thinking about a PR-plan, you will help your boardmates everywhere you can. The website is also of your concern and you will take care of the brand awareness of the foundation.
