This year we have organised some interactive and interesting workshops again.
Survival Test
Picture yourself in a small town in a developing country, during the evening and make some decisions of importance for the rest of your lives for your familu. We will not make it easy on you; changes in the policy of the government, International Monetary Fund and World Bank will have major influences on your decisions. Will your family make ends meet? The ultimate survival test! Each round will bring new experiences and events which will have radical results for your financial position. Then it is all about the right choices: ’shall I send my kid to school or shall I buy medical treatment for my sick mother?’ You never know what the next round will bring. A probing workshop about surviving in a developing country.
Hivos
Together with many pertner organisations, Hivos strives to a world where people are treated equally and where no limits are set to the potential developments of people. Hivos tries to realize this through financial support, advising people, building strong networks, lobby activities, education and exhchanging knowledge. The goal of this workshop is to inspire participants to formulate their personal ideas and aspirations around the theme development aid.
Het Nieuwe Geld (STRO) (The New Money)
Broke? Then we will make it ourselves !
The current financial crisis proves the point: it is about time for a new monetary system!
The Social Trade Organisation introduces ‘the New Money’ in different places in Latin-America. In Uruguay, small businesses, withing a network of businesses, receive a ‘New Money’ micro credit in the form of digital units instead of ‘normal’ money. Transactions through the internet or mobile phone makes this possible. Other advantages: cheaper credits which has, at the same time, a bigger impact on the local economy since the digital units can only be spent locally. The New Money is also being applied successfully in Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica.
Agriterra
In developing countries, a lot of people work and live at the country side. They play the key role in solving the hunger- and poverty problems. If they do not unite, they will stay powerless regarding politics and they will keep their economical disadvantages. Agriterra operates out of the belief that those people can start their development themselves by organising and uniting. Strong and representative agricultural organisations are crucial to benefit and promote the democracy, to maintain a better income distribution and for the economical development of a country.
The Art of Living
Stressed? Restless? Lack of power and energy? This is the workshop for you! During this workshop, the participants will find their inner peace through the application of several breathing techniques. With this they will learn how to keep their thoughts in control. Furthermore, theory about how the human mind and how stress develops and what you can do to avoid it. Building knowledge about this, will contribute to your role as leaders of the future.
